A Taste of Thailand in Los Angeles: Wat Thai Temple Food Adventure

If you’re looking for a truly authentic Thai food experience, look no further than Wat Thai temple in North Hollywood.

Tucked away in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, this temple offers a delicious and affordable street food market on Sundays and Saturdays that will transport your taste buds straight to Thailand.

When you first arrive, you’ll need to exchange your cash for tokens, as the vendors only accept tokens.

Trust us, this is the perfect opportunity to try a little bit of everything. From skewered meats to sweet and savory curries, the options are endless.

One of our favorite dishes was all of the different types of skewers. These skewered meats were cooked to perfection and brushed with a sweet barbecue sauce that left us wanting more.

And they were only $2 each.

Another must-try dish is the basil fry with shrimp. It’s slightly charred from the wok and has just the right amount of spice, making it the perfect balance of flavors.

For those who love a good curry, the Panang curry is not to be missed. This dish is made with tender pork and is swimming in a flavorful coconut milk-based sauce.

And if you’re a fan of sweets, be sure to try the mango sticky rice. Though it may not look super sweet, it packs a delicious punch and is the perfect way to end your meal.

The fried rice also shouldn’t be missed. It’s a little bit spicy, has lots of basil and is extremely flavorful.

The best part about this temple is the variety of food options available.

There’s something for everyone, and even though we tried as much as we could, we still couldn’t finish it all. We can’t wait to come back and try even more dishes.

The seating is ample and the parking is free, but do come early as parking is limited. This is truly a hidden gem that not too many people know about.

It’s the perfect way to experience Thai street food without having to travel all the way to Thailand.

So, if you’re missing the flavors of Thailand and you love Thai food, Wat Thai temple is a must-visit.
