Smorgasburg LA Review: Everything You Need to Know Before Your Visit

Smorgasburg LA is like a food festival that never ends – a place where you can keep coming back for more and trying something new every time.

The vendors offer a wide range of food options, and there’s something for everyone.

How Does Smorgasburg LA Work?

Smorgasburg LA is a weekly food event held on Sundays, offering a diverse range of food vendors with options for everyone, including vegan dishes.

There is no entrance fee, and visitors can purchase food directly from their preferred vendors.

However, be prepared for crowds, limited seating, and exposure to direct sunlight, especially during summer months. Costs for food can range from $25-$50 per person.

While some vendors offer exceptional dishes, others may be hit or miss depending on your preferences.

In addition to food, the event also features clothing and accessory vendors, and nearby areas like Little Tokyo and the San Gabriel Valley provide more food and shopping opportunities.

As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by a variety of vendors, selling everything from oysters, shrimp, fries, and vegan food.

One thing to keep in mind is that it’s a popular spot, so it can get quite crowded. If you’re looking to beat the crowds, it’s best to get there when the event opens.

Another highlight was the vegan section, which offered plant-based food options.

It was a fantastic experience for anyone who is vegan or looking to try new plant-based foods. The vegan fries, in particular, were thick and crispy, just the way we like them.

However, there were some downsides to the event.

It can get quite crowded, and finding a place to sit and eat can be a challenge. If you’re not a fan of crowds, you may not enjoy the experience as much.

One definite downside to visiting Smorgasburg LA during the summer months is that there is very little shade available.

The outdoor event is held in a large parking lot, so visitors are exposed to direct sunlight for most of their visit.

You can expect to stand and eat or you can take your food outside at the Row and eat there.

Additionally, some of the food options can be a bit pricey, so it’s important to keep that in mind.

Another downside is that some of the vendors can be a bit hit or miss.

While some of the food options were excellent, others weren’t as impressive.

It’s important to be open to trying new things, but keep in mind that not everything is going to be to your taste.

If you’re spending quite a bit of money on food, you’re going to want it to be worth it for you. Cost of expenses are going up and labor is hard to come by for these vendors so make sure you treat them well (and tip)!

That being said, we still have a fantastic time every time we go to Smorgasburg LA, and we highly recommend it.

It’s a fun experience, and it’s a great place to hang out with friends, try new foods, and have a good time.

One thing to keep in mind is that the event is only open on Sundays, and it’s only open for a limited time. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out.

In addition to the food, the event also offers a variety of other items for sale, such as clothing and accessories. It’s a great place to find unique and interesting items that you may not find anywhere else.

One of the things we really appreciated was the fact that there are nearby areas to explore, such as Little Tokyo and the San Gabriel Valley, which offer more food options.

There are also various shops and boutiques in the area, which you can explore if you’re looking to take a break from the crowds.

Lastly, keep an eye on the vendor list as it changes from time to time.

tl;dr – expect to spend $25-$50 per person. It’s a fun experience. You might be melting in the sun during summer months.
