The short answer is ‘yes’. The 626 Night Market is expensive. In addition to the entry fee, you can expect to pay upwards of $7.50 for a boba drink and $28 for a single slider! But that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it or that you can’t still have a good time.

What is the 626 Night Market?

For those who may not be familiar, the 626 Night Market is similar to the Asian street markets you can find in places like Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea.

It’s a vibrant and bustling event, filled with food vendors, trinket sellers, and more. And it’s definitely not for the budget-conscious.

What Can You Get At the 626 Night Market?

Upon arriving at the market, the first thing that caught our eye was the sheer variety of food options available.

From giant squid to Bone Marrow Bros, there was something for everyone.

However, it’s important to note that the prices for the food were quite steep.

A portion of giant squid, for example, cost $17. And let’s not forget about the drinks, which also came with a high price tag.

You can also get trinkets and other goodies at the 626 Night Market at some of the non-food vendor booths.

The Lines

One of the things that stood out to us was the long lines at many of the food vendors.

It’s clear that the 626 Night Market is a popular destination for foodies, and many vendors had lines that stretched out of their tents.

While we understand that waiting in line can be a part of the experience, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking to make the most of your time at the market.

For example, it took us about 20 minutes to get our giant squid.

As a couple who doesn’t particularly like waiting in long lines, that was our limit.

Food Highlights

Despite the high prices and the long lines, we did find some delicious food at the 626 Night Market.

The 626 Night Market Giant Squid

The giant squid was particularly noteworthy, as it was freshly fried and had a nice, crunchy texture.

The seasoning, a combination of pepper and salt, was also spot on.

Even though we didn’t get it at the 626 Night Market, we highly recommend Bang Bang Noodles.

The Wagyu Slider was delicious but ridiculously expensive at $28.

The Vibe

The atmosphere at the 626 Night Market is lively and festive.

With so many vendors and so many people milling about, it’s easy to get caught up in the energy of the place.

It’s a great place for families, couples, and friends to explore and experience new foods together.

If you’re looking for something to do on a weekend night, it’s a happening spot.

The Games

An quick and easy way to blow your money is to spend it on the carnival style games.

You should definitely watch YouTube videos on how to beat some of these games, otherwise you’re going to get your money stolen.

Luckily for us, the Wagyu slider came with a game ticket. We used it on a game where we had no chance of winning but it was still fun.

Should You Visit the 626 Night Market?

All in all, our experience at the 626 Night Market was a mixed one.

On the one hand, most of the food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively and festive.

On the other hand, the prices were quite high and the lines were often long.

For the 2 of us, we spent $80+. If you’re taking the family, that could easily top $200+.

It’s not the vendor’s fault for setting steep prices. Keep in mind that they have to pay for the booth as well as supplies and ingredients (which aren’t cheap). As well as their staff.

But if you’re looking for a unique dining experience and don’t mind splurging a little, then the 626 Night Market is definitely worth checking out, especially if you haven’t been before.

So, is the 626 Night Market worth your time and money? It’s a tough question to answer. On one hand, it’s a unique and exciting event that offers a wide variety of Asian foods.

But if you’re from the area, you can get food that’s even more delicious in the surrounding areas, except without the festival vibe.

The choice is yours.
