Long’s Family Pastry – 715 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012

This spot offers the traditional style of Egg Tarts with flaky puff pastry on the outside and egg on the inside. The egg tarts are small and shiny, with a perfect balance of flakiness and sweetness. Bonus: they also offer dim sum, but we recommend sticking to the egg tarts.

Phu’s Bakery – 9008 Garvey Ave STE D, Rosemead, CA 91770

Located in the city of Rosemead, this bakery offers Portuguese-style Egg Tarts that are custardy and fluffy. The crust is a bit softer than the traditional egg tarts, and the filling is not too sweet. A definite must-try.

Simply Splendid Bakery – 1273 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801

This spot is one of our favorites, and it’s known for its huge egg tarts and specialty egg white egg tarts, which are hard to find. (pictured above)

They also offer Portuguese and regular egg tarts.

Jim’s Bakery – 400 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754

This small bakery is a pleasant surprise.

They offer a unique twist on the traditional egg tart. The egg custard is creamy and just sweet enough. The crust is a bit softer than traditional egg tarts, making it perfect for those who prefer it softer.

You can also find Portuguese Egg Tarts here as well. On the menu, you’ll see them as ‘Po Tarts’.

If you’re a fiend and need to eat them right away, there’s a little makeshift seating area where you can see lots of flaky crumbs.

This bakery chain is a staple in Los Angeles, offering a wide variety of baked goods, including egg tarts.

The egg custard is creamy and the crust is flaky as it should be. It’s a great option for those who are looking for a classic egg tart experience.

They also come packaged in pairs. You can also get a mochi egg tart there as well which we weren’t able to find anywhere else.
